About Us

Endurance sports were not even on my radar until 2014 when a buddy decided to compete in Ironman Lake Placid.

Like most great stories, this one starts in a bar. Hard to say if it was me or the booze, but a $50 bet was made that night on whether or not I could run a 5k in under 7 minute per mile pace.

I worked out and had been playing in a competitive hoops league and thought "how hard can this be". In a word. HARD. Up to that point I probably hadn't run a mile since high school. I still remember hitting the treadmill for the first time. Woof.

After the 5k, coworkers recruit me for a Ragnar run because they "heard I've been running". I say yes not knowing what I'm getting into. Turns out I agreed to be packed in a van and jumping out to run at all hours of the night somewhere in the Pacific Northwest. When I'm not running I'm listening to the guys talk about marathons, cycling races and Ironmans.

That November I run my first marathon. I don't even make it out of the finisher's shoot before I'm thinking about my next marathon. Ok, it's official, I'm hooked.

In 2015 I move to a triathlon hotspot, San Diego, California. I jump right in, get hooked up with a great coach based in Los Angeles and commit 100% to the process. My swim coach literally laughs out loud when I turned up for my first swim session in board shorts. The last bike I owned was my Huffy when I was 12. Maybe I'm in over my head...

6 months after learning how to swim and buying a bike, I arrive at the Honu 70.3 half Ironman in Hawaii. Open water swim, no wet suit... sharks. Cool. As I cross the finish line, a wave of emotion hits. There aren't too many moments in life where you can sit back and say "wow I can't believe I just did that" and I'm having one here.

In 2019 I am fortunate enough to qualify for my first world championship race. To mark the occasion my coach encourages me to design my own custom kit for race day.

At the race in France, a teammate asks about my kit. I tell him I designed it myself and offer to design one for him. He shares his ideas, I'm in the zone and we knock out the artwork in a day. He gets custom kit for him and his crew and I've stumbled upon my next passion project...

The rest, as they say, is history.
